This move along with many others will be things that the people in the combat gold program at Team Third Law will be tested on at the end of this month. Not only this choke but other moves such as all of the brabo chokes, and other small errors that Roberto Torralbas the head instructor has seen us making at the tournament level.
The bread cutter choke is not only a super effective choke, but probably one of the safest and hardest submissions to stop from the north south position. Because once in the north south position the persons elbows usually open up when they try to bridge and shrimp. This is the perfect opportunity to sink your hand underneath their arm and grab with a collar grip.
You can check out more of the curriculum this month for combat gold on http://www.ThirdLawCoach.com. Where you will also find all of the techniques we will be teaching this month in the white belt basics program and also the Muay Thai – Kick Boxing. This website is the biggest resource for our students to use to retain the most about techniques being taught, and its a great resource to look over past techniques we went over in case you have questions about specific details.

We have had tremendous sucess with the bump sweep or hip over sweep with all of our competitors at Team Third Law BJJ of Naples, FL. In the grappling class you will see countless number of people going for the bump sweep when the other person gives them the opportunity and what I mean by the opportunity is reacting in the closed guard by either sitting back a little bit, or say wiping some sweat off their face is the perfect time to go for the bump sweep to get to mount and win the fight.
Think about it who doesn’t want to learn a sweep that will win you matches if you get it down. If your a closed guard player then you need to lern this technique if you don’t it is going to hurt your closed guard game alot. The variations of attacks from this position are endless you can do bump sweep to kimura, bump sweep to triangle, bump sweep to gullotine but what we have had the most sucess with is the bump sweep to kimura and triangle so thos two are the two we have been drilling everyone on in class, improving on our strengths as a school.
Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that is built on action-reaction techniques if the person does this I go for this the list goes on and on, and you have to be ready for any scenario that can arise so going for a bump sweep when the time is right could end the fight with you in mount looking for the submissions its a great sweep that is super effective and used at alll levels of Jiu Jitsu.

At Team Third Law BJJ we have people of all backgrounds and ages that come and train with us and it is the main reason why we have such a great team environment. The atmosphere is second to none at a martial arts school. Ask all of our students they are always having a great time here with us training to become superior Jiu Jitsu practitioners.
We have many examples of kids like Nick that come and train with us that have only been training for less than a month and already hooked on the martial art. That’s mainly due to the fact that everyone is very friendly here and no one is ever out to get one another.
Not only is this a great atmosphere for kids but a get team environment. Everyone is always trying to improve one another and helping them to achieve their goals be it getting in better shape, learning self defense, becoming more disciplined, whatever it is we will help you achieve it here at Team Third Law BJJ of Naples, FL.

No one likes it, and if you do there has got to be something wrong with you but regardless the task of cutting weight is not fun. If you have done Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and competed or some type of sport that forces you to be in some weight class you want to be in the lowest one possible. So to do that you have to A) starve yourself for a good amount of time B) hop in a sauna to lose the extra water weight. Neither of these are my favorite thing to do but as a team we usually do B.
You want to make sure that either the day before you are at least within 5-7 lbs of your goal weight that way you can just hop in a sauna and loose all of the remaining weight in water. What you do not want to do is try to use more than 7 lbs in a sauna, that can be very dangerous, so if you just stay within your goal weight around 5 lbs within hoping in a sauna is your best bet.
Then after you weigh in the first thing you want to do is just eat anything and everything in sight… This isn’t usually the best thing to do because by just stuffing your face like a madman you can end up leaving yourself feeling sick or worse than you began. What experts say to do is eat as much as you can but space it out to where your not craming all the food in at once. This is a tough one for most to do because after not eating usually for a day all you can think about is food…

Roberto states in this video how he wants the grades to improve from the previous test. Just to give you an update on how the scores have been so far. So far the first test the school had for the technique the score was a D average… Seems not so good, but the next test when people knew that Roberto was not messing around anymore as far as technique went and got a free gi and saved her parents, a lot of time and money.
Because we all know that TIME is the most important asset in anyone’s life without having to risk it because Roberto teaches that the number one asset in anyone’s life should be time and always trying to improve on using your time wisely and having solid time management skills.
I am really excited for this upcoming test though because I feel like it is going to be a huge asset to your life, make you feel better about yourself, get in better shape. As well as learning a self-defense that is going to allow you to defend yourself , just in case that situation ever occurs it is good to know the best self-defense
